The 1898 Morgan Dollar is an average Silver Dollar of the Morgan series. The 1898 had a proof coin mintage of 735 and a standard strike mintage of 5,884,000 coins. It is a common coin found in every grade from very worn out to being an MS coin. Most coins are ideal for collecting and come lusterous and nicely struck. The proof coins are some of the best in the whole Morgan Silver Dollar series. There are no notable VAM coins for this year. The 1898 Morgan Proof Dollar is fairly average pricewise, going from about $1,400 in PF-60 to around $30,000 as PF-68. The regular mintage coins go for about $30 in MS-60 and up to a measly $6,000 as MS-67.
