The 1894-S Morgan Silver Dollar is a prime Morgan Dollar for collecting. It has a great mintage of 1,260,000 coins, which good because they are not overly common, but not too rare either. The 1894-S Morgan Dollar also has a nice strike along with great luster, which makes it even more desirable. Some of the higher grade and more expensive coins can be a little bit harder to find. The 1894-S Morgan Silver Dollar is worth around the $600 to $700 range, while the coins in the higher MS-67 can be about $30,000.

1894-O Morgan Silver Dollars are easier to find than the 1893-S and 1894 Dollars with a mintage of 1,723,000 coins. Unfortunately, the 1894-O Dollars are of lower grade strike, although the luster usually better. This year is not good for any really important VAMs, which is also disappointing. The 1894-O Morgan Dollar is about $800-$900 in MS-60 and then if you can find an MS-65, it is worth around $60,000. The1894-O is very hard to find nice uncirculated coins.

The 1894 Morgan Silver Dollar is a key date coin in the Morgan Dollar series. There are only 110,000 regularly struck Morgans for this year along with 972 proof 1894 dollars. These coins come with nice strikes and luster most of the time. Although there is a very low mintage for this year, finding a Mint State 1894 Morgan Dollar will not be as hard nor as expensive as trying to get a 1893-S Morgan Dollar, besides the fact that their mintages are almost the same. The MS-60 is worth around $4,000 and a coin in MS-66 can be worth around the $90,000 range. The 1894 Proof Morgans are worth near $2,000 as PF-60 and PF-67 and higher graded coins are over $20,000.

There were no special variety or error coins produced this year. The 1894 Morgan Dollar in MS-66 condition can be worth up to $90,000.
