The 1890-S Morgan Silver Dollar is a nice coin for collectors to grab for a good price. The 1890-S Morgan was struck with a mintage of 8,230,373. The coins are mostly very well struck and with good luster which is what people want when they are looking a Morgan Dollar. Finding an uncirculated coin in MS-65 and down should be fairly easy. The 1890-S Morgan Silver Dollar in MS-60 is close to $60 and then is valued at about $17,000 in MS-67 condition. There is no outstanding VAM varieties in this year.

The 1890-O Morgan Dollar is pretty common amongst other dollars because of its mintage of 10,701,000. The price of this coin is not very high at all because it is easy enough to find nice ones even in higher conditions. A 1890-O Morgan Silver Dollar in MS-60 runs for about $60 while unfortunately a MS-66 is just under $10,000. This coin is very average, and because there are no special VAMs of this year, there's not much to write about. Many of these coins have nice strikes and good luster, so keep a look out and find the best one that you can.

The 1890-CC Morgan Dollar is a nice coin with a mintage of 2,309,041. The coins are of better quality than those of the past years. The coins in higher grades can be arduous to find. The big VAM variety of this year is VAM-4. VAM-4 is also known as the 1890-CC Tailbar, which has a large gouge going from the tail feathers to the wreath. The 1890-CC Tailbar Morgan Silver Dollar is worth about $2,000 in MS-60 and then around 20,000 in MS-65. The regular 1890 Morgan Dollar is valued at around $400 in MS-60 and then about $22,000 in MS-66.

The 1890 Morgan Silver Dollar was another not so great year for the Morgan Dollar. With a mintage of 16,802,000, there are plenty of dollars to go around, but the quality of the majority of the coins is poor. The proofs of this year are only slightly better. There is really no standout die varieties or VAMs of this year, unfortunately. In MS-60 condition, the 1890 Morgan goes for about $30 and then around $25,000 in MS-66. The 1890 Proof Morgan Dollar is worth over $1,000 as PF-60 and then jumps up to just shy of $40,000 as PF-68.
