There are many worn out coins of the 1886-O Morgan Silver Dollar. It is very easily found with the 10,710,000 coins that were made, but finding one in very nice uncirculated condition can be very hard. Many coins to choose from usually means that a lot of them aren't of the greatest quality strikes and luster, so being picky is recommended. The only special die variety for 1886-O that is wanted by collectors is VAM-1A. This can be a raised E or BER on the back of the coin right beneath the eagle's tail and there is also the possibility of part of a t from the word Trust on the obverse of the coin. The 1886-O Morgan Silver Dollar is worth about $700 MS-60 and its value skyrockets in higher grades like MS-65+ to around $200,000.

The 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar is very common having a circulation mintage of 19,963,000. However, the quality lacks in some of these coins because the dies were used for such long periods of time. Many of the 1886 Morgan Silver Dollars have been melted back down during the 1880s. The 1886 Morgan Silver Proof is also an okay coin, with an okay strike but it is scarce being minted 886 coins, making it harder to find a very nice looking one. The PF-60 is about $1,000 and the PF-67 can be worth over $20,000. The uncirculated regular strike coins are only valued at $30 or so for MS-60 and then about $15,000 in MS-68. Collectable VAM varieties include: VAM-1A, a line across the inside of the upper part of the 6, VAM-17, the three bottom arrows being carried are doubled, and VAM-21, where the M on liberty's neck is gouged with part of an 8, this variety also has a lot doubled parts on the reverse.
