One of the rarest Morgan Dollars of the whole series is the 1893-S Morgan Silver Dollar. It has a mintage of only about 100,000 coins with most of them found in very fine condition. It is the ideal coin for collecting, with great strike, luster, and a superb value. Unfortunately, the value of this coin rises way past the average coin collector's budget to get an AU or a Mint State coin. When trying to find this coin, a difficult task, be on the lookout for fake coins because with rare coins, people will try to scam you. The 1893-S Morgan Dollar is expensive in all grades, and dollars in EF to AU condition range from about $10,000 to around $50,000.Coins in uncirculated condition start at around $100,000 and then range to about $1,000,000 in MS-67.

The 1893-O Morgan Silver Dollar is another valuable and rare coin to the Morgan Dollar set. The coin has a mintage of only 300,000 coins, which is the lowest of any Morgan Dollar produced at the New Orleans Mint. The strike is usually not that good and many coins have marks and nicks from being in the bags. Finding a nice 1893-O Morgan in Mint State condition is pretty rare and finding coins in the higher of uncirculated grades can be near impossible. The 1893-O Dollar is worth around $1,000 in AU grades, around $2,000 to $3,000 range in low MS grades, and can be found to be near a whopping $400,000 in MS-66, but unfortunately there are only a few in that high of quality.
